WHEN
???....WHENEVER
Within, the stars swirl and lift
I spread my wings and spiral off
immersed in peace, free of loss
as the obscuring curtain opens
Nothing hidden in this span
as carnal thoughts
bow low to Wisdom
which speaks softly,
"Don't embellish"
Mind opens to Heaven beyond the earth
Translucent beings hover and accompany
misty forms amid a Celestial Sea
A serene ballet of Love expressed
He addresses the temporal
dismissing space and time
They take their leave like obedient children
While I find ........
No concern for good and evil,
no concern whatsoever
No fables of retaining familiar form
No separation exists
No distance to travel
No interest in "knowing about"
No sweat to believe

MY BIG
BROTHER
So it took nearly a quarter of a century
What is that compared to infinity??
I saw your compassion...concern
Radiating from the depths
As we entered the gate
to behold the destruction
that took our gentle angels
The scene broke my heart
but, you were with me
a strength in my darkest hour
your stammering....eloquence
your presence.....a pillar
My staid, stoic, redneck brother
My eternal friend.......

LOVING
MEMORY
Can't touch you
Can only hold you in my dreams
Can't see you as you were
Only in ethereal streams
Short time here didn't keep you
From all that you could be
Cutting thru the emotional cocoon
Determined to be free
Light became your countenance
Showing this life for all to see
now like many, my world is bitter sweet
Dear loving memory.

To my friend
I see your desire, your philosophy
the one that fuels visions goal
You ache in the midst of baser values
shallow souls keep taking their toll
you care when wrongs are being done
that coarse is labeled fine
you want to make a difference
you long for sun to shine.
In all this, the way has made you ill
and rest is hard to find
I would now with great timidity suggest..
hoping you will be find it kind
death must come to your bad and your good
rid self of all called "mine"
so within your soul of evicted debris
you will see how the son does shine.

To
my Friend |
|
WHAT WE BEHOLD
If I look at "it"
I will flounder
If I give weight to the physical
It will bring me down
I must perceive in truth
Our human condition
We are but mist and vapor
Here for a short while.
Why be encumbered
with affections that tie
to what continually crumbles?
Rather be fixing eyes
on the realm that doesn't fade
Seeing the eternal is not an escape
Its just facing facts.

STRUGGLE
wrestling in the night,
brings grease through the skin to the surface,
a mystery while we fight
then the dawn does reveal it has purpose.
